12088252_459193650929816_5456449465004692483_nThe Foster Care Resource Center has opened at 511 H Street in Eureka. We would love to have you drop by and see our facility and hear about how we are serving the foster community in Humboldt County. The Resource Center is open Tuesday-Thursday and Saturday from 9:00-1:00, or by appointment.

The Resource Center is a 1500 square foot store front filled with everything a foster child could need. We have clothes, shoes, pajamas, blankets, toys, books, car seats, baby swings and toiletries. Pretty much “you name it—we have it”. If you have a child in your home from the foster care system we would love to help you out. When you get a new placement we can get you everything you need for them, or if your current placement is growing please stop by for new items.

We are here to help you! Stop by during open hours to visit and talk with other foster parents. If you have questions please call Janelle Harris at (707) 834-1604.

Paul and Janelle Harris live in the rural town of Eureka California. They have 3 biological children and their second foster child that was going to stay “just for the weekend” joined their family through adoption in 2012. They became foster parents at the urging of their children and after witnessing a family in their church foster and adopt. Foster care has become an integral part of their church family as they minister to the families involved.

Hello, I am just starting to look into the possibility of fostering/adopting and was wondering if you have volunteer opportunities available so that I can start networking and helping others while I look into the possibilities. Thank you
