Jeff and Becky Smits

Advocate - Knoxville, TN

Jeff and Becky have 5 children. After a couple years of fostering and eventually adopting, they still had a desire to continue to help the children in foster care, minister to the social workers in their community, and support other foster families they met along the way. They were always saddened when their foster children arrived with either the typical “garbage bag luggage” or simply just the clothes on their backs. When Becky received an embroidery machine for Christmas and saw a Pinterest “pin” for Shelter Bags, the idea of personalizing bags for children entering foster care began. The ministry flourished and blossomed in meeting needs way beyond that, and they are now so grateful God orchestrated becoming part of such a kindred ministry with TFI! Jeff and Becky desire for more families to know about foster care and how God is calling them to use their gifts to impact the foster care community for Christ.
