Bringing joy and purpose to orphans

Past connections

Thank you so much for your commitment to the children and families of this community.
Heidi: Caseworker, DCFS Champaign County, IL

A foster son commented on the 'Journey Bags' that a local church put together before Christmas. "Wow those are awesome, tell whoever did this THANK YOU". This opened the door for me to explain to my foster sons that those who follow Christ have His love in them and this is why they are willing to be generous with those they will probably never meet or here thank you from. So to all who donated; thank you for living Isaiah 58:10 and allowing the light of Christ to shine through you.
Foster Parent: Champaign county, IL

"We are new foster parents that got our first foster child yesterday. He entered DHR with the clothes he was wearing and no shoes. Thank you so much for the backpacks that you filled. We were able to go straight home without taking him to the store. What a blessing to have a toothbrush, pajamas, baby shampoo, and many other items. It is a huge blessing to have these items for this little 2 year old."
Alicia: Foster Parent Birmingham AL

“As a caseworker, TFI has shown me hope that there are people in our community who want to defend the fatherless and voices that cannot be heard”
Jenna, Caseworker at FamilyCore: Peoria, IL

Thank you again so much for the support that The Forgotten Initiative has provided to the children & families that we serve. So far we have been able to distribute close to ten of your backpacks and everyone has been blessed by the clothing and personal care products, as well as the stuffed animals and blankets. I hope that you are continuing to hear about and meet the needs for our foster care community in other agencies as well!'
Caseworker: Illini Christian Ministries Champaign County, IL

“Working with TFI was a great experience! It is awesome to see so many people in the community come together and make the world brighter for some very special kids!”
Fawn, Project Sunshine volunteer: Peoria, IL

“Thank you for the latest delivery of Journey Bags – we are keeping the bags with the Child Protective Services workers… easiest way to make sure the bags are available immediately upon removal for every child. The items will help soothe/calm/occupy the children and the messages that they are valued and will be cared for that are conveyed by the bags are great helps for the children during the removal/transition.”
DSS Worker: Augusta County VA

“We were looking for opportunities to give back to our community a piece of what we have gotten from the Lord. Surprisingly, it was difficult to find opportunities for a large group Iike ours. When we got connected with the Forgotten Initiative, they connected us with organizations that needed what we could provide.”
Bryan, Vale Community Church: Bloomington IL

“I was speechless when I first saw the Project Sunshine room yesterday. You are all absolutely amazing and we thank you so much. I conduct a lot of meetings with families in this room and it will be a much more pleasant environment now. Thank you so much!”
Sandra: Caseworker Champaign County, IL
