Become a Church Partner
We were looking for opportunities to give back to our community a piece of what we have gotten from the Lord. Surprisingly, it was difficult to find opportunities for a large group Iike ours. When we got connected with the Forgotten Initiative, they connected us with organizations that needed what we could provide.

We are new foster parents that got our first foster child yesterday. He entered DHR with the clothes he was wearing and no shoes. Thank you so much for the backpacks that you filled. We were able to go straight home without taking him to the store. What a blessing to have a toothbrush, pajamas, baby shampoo, and many other items. It is a huge blessing to have these items for this little 2 year old.
- Alicia, Foster Parent, Birmingham AL
Children are brought into foster care at all hours of the day or night and often wait hours in agency rooms while workers try to find available homes. These rooms are also used for parent/child visits. Project Sunshine transforms outdated and unwelcoming rooms into beautiful spaces for kids & their families!

PHASE 5: Finish Well
Looking for an opportunity for your group to serve right in your own backyard? Project Renovate is a local ‘mission trip’ that reaches out to foster families in need while at the same time raising support for The Forgotten Initiative with projects like deep cleaning a home, doing yard work or painting a room. We recommend that projects be task oriented rather than construction focused unless the team is able to partner with someone with construction experience.
